(only sharing MBLAQ Hello Babies part of the story)
KBS’ “Hello Baby” was one of the most loved variety shows among K-pop fans. Aired in June 2009 for the first time, the show showed idols’ skill in taking care of a baby, as if their own kids. The first season was started with the fresh rising star girl group at that time, Girls’ Generation, followed by their junior label-mate, SHINee who came on the second season in 2010. T-Ara also joined the show in 2010 and SISTAR and Super Junior’s Leeteuk in 2011, MBLAQ and B1A4 in 2012, and the last season ended in 2013 with Boyfriend.
To some fans, the show is practically inseparable from the golden era of K-pop life. However as time flies, fans probably have forgotten the cute babies from the variety show are not so baby anymore, and are growing up to become handsome/pretty kids.
Here are updates from the babies of Girls’ Generation, SHINee and MBLAQ.
MBLAQ’s Yoon Dayoung, Lauren Hanna Lunde, Recipon William Leo (2012)
To give an international touch in the show, KBS decided to bring the multicultural theme on MBLAQ’s season of “Hello Baby”. Thus, three same-age multicultural kids—two girls and one boy—were chosen to be taken care of the group. Yoon Dayoung (Nguyen Gia Linh – a Korean-Vietnamese) as the oldest, born in March 2008; Lauren Hanna Lunde (Canadanian-Korean) as the middle, born in May 2008; and Recipon William Leo (French–Korean) as the youngest born in September 2008.
The three were only 5 years old, and successfully made MBLAQ’s members in chaos with their different characters.
They are now spreading their wings to have a young career as a model and actor, and appeared in some commercials and dramas. Lauren is especially famous and becoming a kid star, with her pretty and cute face that steal fans’ heart.
They are also still showing their close relationship with MBLAQ’s member, and showing their support for their appas.
